Hand-forged sterling silver canteen of cutlery in the Old English Shell style. Old English Shell is a rare variant of the Old English pattern, distinguished by the shell at the top of the stem. One of the classic Georgian patterns, it is first found in the 1770s but was mostly produced during the Victorian period, and is still produced today.

All pieces are in excellent condition, fitted in a wooden canteen, and the set comprises:

12 tablespoons
12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 dessert spoons
12 teaspoons
6 table serving spoons
4 sauce or gravy ladles
1 large gravy spoon
1 soup ladle
1 pair sugar tongs

12 modern table knives
12 modern dessert knives

Since antique knives rarely survive, this cutlery service is completed with 12 pairs of matching Old English Shell pattern table and dessert knives, made in Sheffield in 2000, with stainless steel blades making them suitable for the dishwasher.
