A classic mid-Victorian wine jug with hand-etched glass body decorated with classical leaf designs, and fitted with silver mounts that are finely hand chased with fruit and foliage. The handle is cast and resembles twisting branch. The thumb-piece is cast in the form of a rampant lion and shield. Beneath the spout, on either side of the body and at the base of the handle there are detailed cast masks of Bacchus, god of wine.
