This is a fine set of Victorian one-date-maker sterling silver cutlery in the Old English Military Thread pattern. Hand forged by one of the 19th century's best silver cutlery manufacturers, George Adams, this pattern is distinguished from the more usual Old English Thread by the scroll collars at the top of each piece.

All pieces of this silver cutlery service are single-struck, meaning the pattern features on one side of each piece, with the back plain. The cutlery set is in exceptionally good and original condition showing little or no sign of wear after 150 years.

This fine antique set of Old English Military Thread comprises:

12 tablespoons
12 table forks
12 dessert spoons
12 dessert forks
12 teaspoons

Since antique silver knives rarely survive, this cutlery set can be completed with 12 pairs of modern table and dessert knives in the Old English Thread pattern for an additional sum. They feature sterling silver handles and stainless steel blades meaning they are safe to put in the dishwasher.
