Stylish three-piece Art Deco style silver tea set comprising teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl. The set's trapezoid form and simplicity of style is typical of the Art Deco era with just a discrete ribbon of applied decoration around the top and bottom edges. The lid of the teapot is fitted with a flush hinge - a sign of superior quality. The handles and teapot's finial continue the geometric design theme.

The teapot has a five teacup capacity, pours beautifully, and is fitted with a Bakelite handle that will stay cool when in use. Bakelite was the first truly synthetic plastic and was one of the innovative materials embraced by the Art Deco movement.

The name
Art Deco was officially coined in 1925 during the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris. It was here that the world first witnessed the symmetrical, geometric, and streamlined pieces that defined this era.

Art Deco's hallmark was its innovative use of speciality materials, creating a fusion of simplicity and opulence that set it apart. The designs of this period featured clean lines, striking geometric shapes, and a sophisticated touch, often crafted from luxurious and expensive materials, elevating everyday objects and spaces into works of art.
