Antique hand-forged silver Albert pattern cutlery for 12

Antique hand-forged silver Albert pattern cutlery for 12

Sold

Fine early Victorian one-date-and-maker, hand-forged silver Albert pattern cutlery set for 12 people. The pattern dates from 1840 and was named after the Prince Consort, whose marriage to Queen Victoria took place in that year. The double-struck design - meaning the pattern is featured on the both the front and back of each piece - is of the mid-Victorian rococo revival form with elegant scrollwork repeated on the reverse. Each piece is engraved with a family crest of an arm holding a crescent. This set comprises:

12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 tablespoons
12 dessert spoons
12 teaspoons

Since antique knives rarely survive, we have included 12 pairs of modern silver Albert pattern table and dessert knives, all with stainless steel blades making them suitable for putting in the dishwasher.

The set is fitted in an oak canteen box.
