Magnificent pair of cast and hand chased silver candlesticks of superior quality. Made by royal silversmith to Queen Victoria, Robert Garrard II of London, one of the leading silversmiths of the era, the rococo design incorporates finely detailed masks in high relief, representing the four seasons, as well as featuring scrollwork, fruit, berries, grapes, foliage and flowers - all set against a mottled background.
The nozzle wax-drips are removable for easy cleaning.
