This good quality platter was made in India at the end of the 19th century. The trefoil shape is complemented by three hand-chased panels depicting scenes of men on horses and elephants, hunting wild animals, along with a central section with eight dancing girls encircling a cartouche with an engraved monogram . The border is cast and hand-chased with a grape and vine design. It also serves as an impressive decorative display piece.
