A superb quality, silver coffee pot in the Queen Anne style, determined by its octagonal body and panelled swan neck silver spout. The octagonal hinged lid is surmounted by a panelled finial and there is an applied stepped decoration about the base, lip and lid.

In a style that was popular at the beginning of the 18th century, this silver coffee pot is made by hand and is of wonderfully heavy quality, fitted with a sweeping carved dark wood handle. One body panel is engraved with family armorials.

Edward Tessier was a partner to Vander & Hedges and when he died in 1875, the pair continued to market silverware under the Tessiers name in Burlington Arcade, London.

To make a matched pair of silver coffee pots, we have another virtually identical pot, featuring the same armorial, to make a matched pair.
