Cast, gilded and solid first standard French silver mirror frame of superb quality, beautifully made and of substantial weight. It was made at the end of the 19th century by Gustave Keller Frères, a high-end jeweller founded in Paris in 1856. The firm was known for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs, which were highly sought after by the elite of the time.

The bevelled mirror surround is decorated with sections of finely detailed acanthus leaves, bellflower and bead patterns plus interwoven scroll panels. Featured centrally at the bottom of the frame is a scallop shell in high relief.

The walnut back is fitted with a strong gilded metal A-shaped support. Altogether a beautiful piece.
