A fine pair of antique silver candlesticks made during the reign of George III by the celebrated silver maker Matthew Boulton, of plain circular form with tapered stems, fluted and gadroon borders, and removable sconces. This fantastic pair of antique neoclassical silver candlesticks are in wonderful condition and bear two stunning hand-engraved original coat of arms depicting falcon and griffin supporters with motto 'COMME JE TROUVE' and crests depicting a demi falcon with wings displayed rising out of a ducal coronet and plume of five ostrich feathers. Each of these coat-of-arms and crests are that of the Butler family of Ormonde, Kilkenny Castle, Ireland.
