Handsome example of an antique Victorian wine jug. Made by one of the best silversmiths of the era, this piece incorporates fine glass engraving and excellent hand-chased decorations on the silver mounts.

The teardrop-shaped, hand-blown glass body is adorned with etched grapes and vines while the scroll handle features cast leaf mounts, and a silver
apron decorated with sections of strapwork, beading and bellflowers. The decoration continues on the pedestal base with a silver leaf and bead pattern border protecting the glass foot.
