Fine quality five-piece Victorian silver tea and coffee set in exceptional, original condition. The set comprises a silver kettle coffee pot, teapot, milk jug and sugar basin. All pieces have pear-shaped pannelled bodies, and shaped bases that are hand engraved in fine detail with scrolling foliage and lattice work. The milk and sugar have decorative gilded interiors.

The raised hinged covers of the tea and coffee pots are similarly decorated, each surmounted by a detachable finial, one in the form of a Arabian man settled on a cushion with tasselled corners, the other in the form of a Chinese man seated on a tea chest. The kettle's finial is also of a bearded and turbaned man sitting and smoking a pipe.

There are cast and applied scroll pattern mounts around the rims of all pieces. The handles of the pots are insulated, and both pots feature cast
swan-neck spouts that are hand engraved.

This is a large capacity silver tea service, the teapot holds eight cups and the coffee pot, nine. This is truly a sumptuous set.
