George I silver bullet teapot

George I silver bullet teapot

Sold

This is an excellent example of an early teapot that incorporates the original ivory handle and engraved crest. The pot is without repair and is in fine condition. The bullet shaped teapot is typical of the George II period and the word bullet is derived from the French word boulette which roughly means little ball, referring to the balls which were used in the original muskets. The teapot's weight is estimated excluding the handle.
