A good quality silver model Lomond, an American-bred (Kentucky), Irish-trained, thoroughbred racehorse and sire, in a standing pose. With a hand-chased textured finish to the body, and excellent realistic detail, the horse is mounted on a wooden plinth with silver plaque. The plaque could be engraved with a personal inscription or, in the event of this becoming a racing prize, the winner's details.

Ridden by Pat Eddery, Lomond was best known for winning the 1983 Classic 2000 Guineas Stakes, one of Britain's five classic races and this model was commissioned to celebrate that win.

His sire, Northern Dancer, was the most successful of the 20th century and "one of the most influential sires in thoroughbred history".

Lomond made only seven lifetime starts but went on to sire five racehorses that won major races in Ireland, USA, Britain and France.
