Interesting antique silver trinket box, beautifully engraved with a wave decoration and a band of stylised niello foliage.

Niello is a black mixture, usually of sulphur, copper, silver, and lead, used as an inlay on engraved or etched metal, especially silver. Historically the technique was employed throughout Europe, but earliest examples have been found from the Bronze Age.
