Sold

A superb quality travelling silver-gilt perfume case fitted with two glass perfume bottles that feature etched floral decorations on the top corners and applied, gilded silver mounts. The heavy-gauge, silver-gilt case is fitted with beautifully detailed and finely defined cast sections of entwined sunflowers, foliage and other floral decorations, set against shagreen-lined panels.

There is a plain central cartouche in the middle of the hinged cover. Below the front of the cover is the push-button sprung mechanism in the form of a flower head to open and close the case.

This piece is truly a work of art, and made to the highest standards of workmanship by Robert Frederick Fox, of the Fox family silversmithing dynasty.
