Set of Edwardian hand-forged one-date-&-maker Prince's silver cutlery for 12
5233
Fine set of antique one-date-and-maker hand-forged Prince's pattern silver flatware with all pieces bearing a family crest of a stork. It is an extensive set, in perfect and original condition, making it quite rare and desirable.
Prince's pattern was first produced around 1860 and its simple shaped scroll and leaf border is typical of the mid-Victorian style. It is one of three patterns celebrating the reign and marriage of Queen Victoria to Prince Albert. The three patterns are 'Victoria', 'Albert' and 'Princes'.
All pieces are in excellent condition with very little signs of wear and the silver cutlery set comprises:
12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 tablespoons
12 dessert spoons
12 teaspoons
6 egg spoons
1 soup ladle
1 basting spoon
2 gravy ladles
1 cheese scoop
1 pickle fork
1 relish spoon
Antique knives rarely survive so the set is completed with 12 pairs of modern matching table and dessert knives, all with silver handles and stainless steel blades making them safe for cleaning in the dishwasher.
