Set of antique hand-forged Victoria pattern silver cutlery for 12
1756
Hand-forged antique silver cutlery set for 12 people in double-struck Victoria pattern and all made by Dudley & Cater over a short span of dates.
Double-struck indicates that the design is struck on the front and back of each piece, requiring a heavier gauge of silver and therefore a sign of superior quality.
The Victoria design, first produced in the 1830s is one of three to commemorate Queen Victoria's ascent to the throne, the other two being Albert pattern and Prince's pattern.
