A dozen 833 standard Dutch silver cake or pastry forks with charming floral finials and presented in their original presentation box.
Hallmarking and date marking items of silver began in the Netherlands around 1503 but there was no standardised procedure in place and each town had its own scheme for this practice. After 1814 two Dutch national hallmarking standards were established and operated - 93.4% silver and 83.3% silver.
