Handmade antique silver tea caddy casket

Handmade antique silver tea caddy casket

Sold

Handmade silver tea caddy from the early George V era and recreated in a casket style first made popular in the late 1700s.  This fine silver tea caddy features a rectangular body and cover, the former tapering towards the base which rests upon four claw supports.  A delicate detachable cast swing handle and hinged clasp are nicely detailed.

Although made as a tea caddy, the box could be repurposed to hold jewellery or as a desk box.
