Charming first quality Japanese silver (950/1000) jewel box beautifully engraved with an image of a traditional wooden cart brimming with a profusion of chrysanthemums and cherry blossom - familiar Japanese artistic motifs - and delicately highlighted with gold. The maker has used 950 standard silver to make this silver box; a higher grade than sterling silver.

This lockable silver jewellery box is fitted with a black wood and red velvet interior and the lift-out tray is fitted to hold rings and earrings.

In Japan, cherry blossoms - sakura - are symbolic of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. The chrysanthemum - kiku - signifies life and rebirth, making them great gifts for birthdays and christenings. In general chrysanthemums represent loyalty and devoted love, longevity and joy.
