Pair of George III silver goblets

Pair of George III silver goblets

Sold

Made in the reign of George III in 1814, this lovely pair of Georgian silver goblets have bulbous flared-lip bowls and round, tapering stems. The bodies are attractively engraved with stippled engraving and depicting exotic birds among foliage; all typical design features of the period.

A thread edge runs round the spreading feet, featuring delicately stylised engraved leaf motifs, and the interiors are gilded.

This is a perfect pair of goblets for imbibing either wine or water.
