Pair of large and finely detailed mid-20th-century silver model partridges of traditional construction, cast and hand chased.

The parson partridge is an old term for the grey partridge, a type of gamebird in the genus perdix and common in parts, but is becoming scarce around much of the country.

Tessiers seems to have been established in 1812, possibly by the descendants of Etienne de Tessier, a Huguenot refugee who arrived in England in 1712. Today, Tessiers has a store at 10 Burlington Arcade Piccadilly dealing in antique and modern jewellery and silverware.
