Large and impressive cast silver model of a pheasant cock with careful hand chasing to pick out nature's detail. Although thought of as quintessentially British, the pheasant is a gamebird native to Asia and it is believed pheasants were introduced to Britain by Roman officers who bred them for the table.
Langfords' heavy quality models are cast in sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
