Mallard ducks are the most common and recognisable wild ducks in the Northern Hemisphere and this is one of a charming pair of finely cast silver mallards.
Langfords' heavy quality models are cast in sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each model is then individually hand-chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
