One maker set of Fiddle Thread and Shell pattern cutlery made by Joseph and Albert Savory of London in 1839-1842. The handles of the four-pronged forks, and the spoons, turn down. All pieces are in excellent condition with good clear hallmarks and crisp pattern.

This is a charming design with the fiddle shape, thread borders and shell motif. On the reverse, shells appear on head and heel. Dating from about 1810 it gained popularity in Colonial America and is one of the most popular Fiddle pattern variants.

The set comprises:

12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 tablespoons
12 dessert spoons
12 teaspoons
2 sauce ladles

Antique knives rarely survive. This silver cutlery set includes 12 pairs of modern dessert and table knives in the complementary Old English Thread and Shell design. With silver handles and stainless steel blades, they are suitable for putting in the dishwasher.
