Set of hand-forged George IV Old English Thread silver cutlery for 12
Set of hand-forged George IV Old English Thread silver cutlery for 12
8935
Made by Robert Peppin in 1822 and 1823., this is a lovely hand-forged antique set of silver cutlery in the Old English Thread pattern; single-struck (pattern on the top surface) and featuring a straight, double-thread edge. The set is in excellent condition
The elegant Old English Thread design was first made popular in England during the latter part of the 18th century and has been produced intermittently ever since it first appeared and this is probably the easiest of the Old English variants to find. We can supply new replacements to help make up extra pieces if necessary.
This Old English Thread set comprises:
12 tablespoons
12 table forks
12 dessert spoons
12 dessert forks
12 teaspoons
Since antique silver knives rarely survive, modern, dishwasher-safe knives with Old English Thread pattern silver handles and stainless steel blades, as shown in the photos, are available for an additional sum.
