Ludwig Neresheimer & Co

Hanau in Germany, enjoyed a reputation as The City of Gold and Silver, and provided the backdrop for Ludwig Neresheimer to establish his eponymous silversmithing firm there in 1893. He was acknowledged for crafting intricate, high-quality silverware in the manner of the 16th to 18th century European silversmiths, in ornamental styles of the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo periods.

Being at the heart of German artistic silversmithing, the level of detail that his silversmiths put into their pieces, Neresheimer became renowned for producing a wide array of superior quality pieces that were sometimes mistaken for genuine antique pieces of the time.
