An extensive set of modern hallmarked sterling silver cutlery in the classic Rattail pattern and featuring 3-prong silver forks. The 18 place settings plus serving pieces are all presented their original military-style fitted canteen box. Rattail's understated elegance means it fits seamlessly into any table setting - contemporary or traditional.

This silver cutlery set comes complete with silver Pistol-style silver-handled knives and fish eaters. All knives are fitted with stainless steel blades, meaning they can safely be washed in the dishwasher and, rather handily, there are two sets of dessert knives and forks, meaning one set can be used for the starter, one for the dessert and there's no need to wash up between courses!

Probably the oldest English cutlery design, Rattail dates back to a time in the 1600s when spoons were made in two halves. Spoons and forks featured a prominent rib down the front of the handle and the distinctive rat tail on the back of the spoons - a design feature developed where the spoon bowl and handle were joined together by creating a tapered tail as additional strength to the joint. Like this set of silver cutlery, the accompanying knives would traditionally have pistol-shaped silver handles.
