In very good condition, this Austro-Hungarian silver comport centrepiece was made in the Rococo style with scrolls and flowers. With its large flat and rimmed dish or plate, set atop an often highly decorative pedestal, a comport was designed to serve fruit or desserts and would sit as a centrepiece on the dining table or sideboard.
This silver comport dish charmingly shows a cherub holding up the beautifully engraved, flat glass dish; the glass featuring a radiating pattern encircled by a leaf and flower border.
The weight shown excludes the glass.
