Pair of antique high-sided silver bottle coasters of exceptional quality made by the illustrious silversmith Robert Garrard. The coasters are made up of cast and pierced panels depicting scrollwork and scallop shells between which are vertical pillars embossed with a weave design. These are surmounted by fine applied gadroon borders. The slightly flared bases are each decorated with a band of applied laurel leaf patterned mount. The interiors have silver bases each engraved with the crest of a stag surmounted by a crown. The undersides are fitted with their original wooden slides.
