Pair of fine late Victorian antique wine jugs with beautifully cut glass bodies, crafted to resemble rock crystal, and fitted with highly decorative silver mounts that are profusely hand-chased in high relief. Both scroll handles and collars are decorated with leaves, scrolls, flowers and shells.
The swirling decorations of the glass incorporate complementary scrolls, shells, flowers and birds, while the hinge cover is chased in an elegant scallop pattern and surmounted by a silver finial. The cover's interior is gilded.
