Designed and signed by J W Dibble, this is a stylish silver serving tray from the Art Deco period and bears a George V silver anniversary hallmark.

This silver salver has an applied mount to the panelled border decorated with simple diagonal grooves and smooth, elongated C-shaped handles carved from ivory; all familiar design cues of the period.

This would make an ideal companion to a four piece Art Deco tea service.

Art Deco was a popular design style throughout Europe in the 1920s and '30s characterised especially by sleek geometric or stylised forms. It represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.
