Late-Victorian antique silver-plated egg cruet fitted with four detachable egg cups that sit securely on four posts. The egg cups each hold a large hen's egg; or perhaps a duck egg.
The cruet stand rests on four ball and claw supports and the repousse decoration is nicely hand chased and bordered by a fine bead decoration. The cast ring handle is formed into a laurel wreath, while the bodies of the egg cups are decorated in the same pattern surrounding the stand with the fine bead pattern replicated around the rims and bases.
