The Langfords silver greyhound is streamlined and slender with a long neck, deep chest, muscular hindquarters and a long slim tail.

It is believed greyhounds were introduced to the British Isles in the 5th and 6th century BC from Celtic Europe, primarily for hunting and coursing in the open where their keen eyesight was valuable.

Like all Langfords' models, our heavy gauge sterling silver greyhound is made using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.

For a truly personal model, we can work from photographs to capture the true likeness of your own pet or favourite animal cast in sterling silver. Contact us for more details.
