Rare silver cannon inkstand

£ 9,400

Silversmith
Place

London

Year

1915

A rare and exceptional inkstand incorporating a field gun. The gun is a copy of a Napoleonic period cannon and since the silver inkstand was made in 1915 it was possibly made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. The shells mounted on either side of the wooden base are for holding the ink and there is a pen-rest incorporated into the silver ground-effect base on which the model sits.

This rare silver cannon inkstand would make an excellent presentation piece.
