Pair of small Corinthian column candlesticks, with ivory half-fluted columns and silver capitals, detachable nozzles and bases. The bases are decorated with slant gadroon bands with acanthus leaf corners.

The Corinthian column is almost always fluted and is the most ornate, slender and sleek of the three Greek architectural orders; the other two being Ionic and Doric. Corinthian are distinguished by a decorative, bell-shaped capital with volutes, two rows of acanthus leaves and an elaborate cornice.
