The Corinthian column is almost always fluted and is the most ornate, slender and sleek of the three Greek architectural orders; the other two being Ionic and Doric. Corinthian are distinguished by a decorative, bell-shaped capital with volutes, two rows of acanthus leaves and an elaborate cornice.

This pair of classic Corinthian candlesticks feature square stepped bases with gadroon edging, fluted stems and acanthus leaf capitals. They have their original hallmarked nozzles which are removable to aid cleaning.
