Stunning antique silver model of a racehorse in a standing pose and saddled up with his bridle and reins awaiting his jockey. Sculpted by Gilbert Halliday in 1913, this amazing silver racehorse has a lively and lifelike character and the statue was signed by him on the base. Halliday's skill for demonstrating the detail and musculature of the animal is evident. It was cast and hallmarked by Elkington & Co of Birmingham in 1913.

Set on a textured silver ground and wooden plinth, the crisp hallmark and signature of the artist
G Halliday 1913 are clearly seen.
