The tiger is the largest cat in the world and one of the most culturally important animals on this planet. This silver model tiger shows the animal's musculature in a stealthy pose. Most associated with Chinese mythology and culture, the tiger represents powerful energy and the harmony of opposites. Further, the tiger is associated with the Chinese god of wealth in Asian art.
Like all Langfords' models, this silver tiger is cast in heavy-gauge sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand-chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
