George III silver teapot

George III silver teapot

Sold

Classic, elegant, Adam-style silver teapot, typical of the 1790s and in fine and original condition. Delicate bands of bright-cut engraving and reeded girdles decorate the body, while geometric bright-cut engraving adorn the lid. The lid is fitted with a flush hinge, a sign of quality.

There is a shield on either side within which are family crests. Both finial and handle are original and the handle has hairline cracks where it has been repaired in the past. The handle is strong and the teapot can be used on a daily basis. Six cup capacity.
