A rare and fine Art Nouveau silver table light of impressive size and quality. The silver shades and base are hand-chased with typical naturalistic swirling forms of stylised foliage and ribbons; all design cues of the era. The cast mounts are detailed with similar decorations.

Horace Woodward & Co began in 1851 and continued in business as manufacturing silversmiths well into the 20th century. They were known for their high-class goods, specialising in épergnes, flower stands, table decorations, and using their own in-house artists for preparing special designs. They were given honourable mention at the Great Exhibition of 1851, and won a first-class medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1855 plus numerous other awards from as far away as Melbourne, Australia.

The lamp has been rewired and complies to UK safety standards.
