Set of mid-century sterling silver cutlery in the scarce but desirable Glamis pattern. All pieces have a lovely elegant shape with Art Deco streamlining, while the plain tapering surface of each handle is embellished with a convex ribbed design to the terminal.

Given the simplicity of design, the Glamis pattern would sit particularly wellin an Art Deco, mid-century or contemporary tablescape.

Glamis pattern is a private design made by Cooper Brothers & Sons and this silver cutlery set was mostly made in 1945 and comprises:

12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 dessert spoons
12 round bowl soup spoons (1964)
12 teaspoons
12 table knives
12 dessert knives (2 x 1964)
12 butter knives (1952)
4 serving spoons
1 sauce ladle (1943)
1 jam spoon (1947)

Weight does not include knives.

Probably nothing to do with the name of this cutlery pattern but the small Scottish village of Glamis was the inspiration for William Shakespeare's Macbeth and Glamis Castle was the ancestral home of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, where her younger daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, was a frequent visitor.
