Hand-forged Fiddle Thread & Shell silver cutlery
1799
Victorian hand-forged silver cutlery set for 12 settings and made by George Adams, one of the best cutlery makers of the 19th century. A charming design with the fiddle shape, thread borders and shell motif. On the reverse, shells appear on the heads and heels.
Dating from about 1810, Fiddle Thread & Shell flatware gained popularity in colonial America and is still very popular today.
The set comprises:
12 table forks
12 dessert forks
12 table soup spoons
12 dessert spoons
