An impressive and unique silver nine-light candelabrum made by the prominent 20th century silversmith, Gerald Benney.

The silver candelabrum is formed as seven thistle stems converging to form a sphere of thorns, then spreading out to the nine nozzles in the shape of stylised thistle flowers, all set on a filled ring base. The drip-pans are removable to aid cleaning.

This item is the largest and heaviest piece of Benney silver known to exist.
