Super stylish Art Deco period silver tea caddy with a stepped pull-off cover surmounted by a graduated silver mount holding an ivory finial in place. There is a band of engraved thread pattern around the lower portion of the barrel-shaped body and every aspect of its form and design epitomises the Art Deco era.

Art Deco is one of the first truly international styles is a style of design that first appeared in France just before World War I. Its name is short for Arts Décoratifs and combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship plus expensive and rare materials such as ebony and ivory. Art Deco represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress. In the 1930s Art Deco became more subdued and a sleeker form of the style emerged featuring curving forms and smooth, polished surfaces.
